Mechanics of Breath
This is a short guided meditation called Mechanics of Breath.
It only takes aboout 5 minutes to listen to and years to really understand.
Once you learn it you can play it for as long as you would like.
I have started every workout for the last 33 years with this simple breathing technique.
The rules of the game are:
Just watch your natural breathing withoout interfering. (tring to make it faster or slower)
Don’t over focus: hold this activity with a light hand.
You view the image as if you are watching yourself. It is guided by your natural breath.
Did I say don’t force your breath.
Breathe through your nose if possible.
Tongue lightly touches the roof of your mouth just behind your teeth.
This activity, helps to bring attention to your breathing which is a very natural rythym. People can do without a lot of things. Breathing isn’t one of them. just by paying attention to your breath you increase your ability to relax, clear your mind, and engender a state od ease. This is one of those things that should be cultivated everyday id you can. 20 years from now you might say to yourself “Wow, that Mechanics of breath I have been doing for 20 years was great the first day I learned it, it just keeps getting deeper!”
